1. Brief

Fan reactions to the seventh series of the popular Game of Thrones drama, were captured and shared on billboards across the UK. The campaign was intended to tap into people’s fear of missing out by capitalizing on the show’s phenomenal online and social engagement.

2. Response

The digital OOH campaign consisted of 3 bursts of activity following pivotal story-plot moments during episodes 3, 6 and 7. The creative featured the best fan reactions shared via the hashtags #GoTS7, #GameofThrones and #WinterisHere, in the form of tweets, images and Boomerang videos. The UGC content was collated, moderated and distributed to multiple media owners through OpenLoop just hours after each episode aired.

3. Results

The Game of Thrones fan-led campaign capitalised on the shows prolific social buzz, providing a fun and fresh execution that drove intrigue and excitement around key episodes and events. Digital OOH was the ideal medium for broadcasting online conversations whilst rewarding participation from the shows hardcore fanbase.
