November 4th saw the Digital Place Based Advertising Association (DPAA) — a not-for-profit trade organisation that exists to drive growth in the US out of home industry — host its annual Video Everywhere Summit, and Grand Visual played a supporting role.
The summit drew together representatives from many of the most significant players in the North American OOH industry, as well as senior marketers from some of the World’s biggest brands, to participate in a range of talks on the impact of mobile on digital out of home.
Speakers included: Barry Frey, President and CEO of the DPAA; Anthony Martinez, Director of Communications Planning and Investment at Coca Cola; Matt Stein, Senior VP Marketing, Promotion & Creative Services at BBC America; Matt Turnbull, Mobile Group Account Director, Mediacom; Adam Schlacter the Chief Investment Officer of DigitasLBi; Joe Mandese, Editor-in-Chief of MediaPost; Eric Fisher, Director of Global Media at GoDaddy; and Jeff Dow, EVP Digital, Data & Analytics of Starcom MediaVest Group.
Topics under discussion included programmatic advertising, multi-screen strategies, and how technology is changing media habits. There were also keynote interviews with Martin Cass, CEO of Assembly and MDC Partners, and Lori Hiltz, CEO of Havas Media North America. In addition, delegates were presented with case studies on digital placed based media in action from Hilary Daly, Senior Brand Manager of Energizer Personal Care, and Kirti Srikant, Director of Brand Advertising and Marketing for Oppenheimer Funds.
Grand Visual was asked to help set the tone for the day by preparing an introductory video on the growing role digital place based media plays in the advertising landscape. The video, which can be seen below, also focused on the increasing degree to which DOOH and mobile intersect. In addition, GV also carried out post-production on the videos of interviews and panel discussions that will be hosted on the DPAA website.
