Warner Bros promoted highly anticipated film Kong: Skull Island with a major international DOOH campaign. Grand Visual produced the digital OOH creative for 33 countries, including new markets such as Indonesia and El Salvador.
To support the ’Kong: Skull Island’ movie release, our most complex and varied Warner Bros campaign to date, we produced a master toolkit featuring 20 creative options for local markets to select from. The toolkit included smart linear options such as night-time creative and a countdown clock, which was used in Canada on roadside screens across Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
We also produced several bespoke animations which included Russia’s epic Kazan stadium screen and a looping subtle motion piece of Kong breathing for the Mexican press junket. In Puerto Rico, we produced bespoke creative for a huge projection onto the side of a building. Digital perimeter boards were produced for Six nations rugby games— viewed by millions on the BBC, as well for a German football match.
The UK had the widest range of formats including premium formats such as subtle motion on Clear Channel’s Cromination and super landscape creative for JCDecaux’s Waterloo Motion.
Kong: Skull Island outperformed opening weekend expectations with the international opening bringing in $65M-$85m placing the film in the top spot for the weekend box office.
