Pepsi Max wanted to create great content that would bring the “unbelievable” nature of the drink to life. The idea was to bring unbelievable events to people all over Britain – starting with a London bus stop! Cutting edge technology was combined with existing Digital Out of Home hardware to create an Augmented Reality event which revolutionised how people saw Oxford Street.
We transformed a digital 6-sheet poster to show a live feed of the road ahead, giving the illusion of a see-through display. But as people watched, a series of unbelievable scenarios appeared to unfold, from giant laser-shooting robots, to passers-by being abducted by flying saucers. A film crew were on hand to capture the public’s reactions and the footage of the Pepsi Max Unbelievable bus shelter became an internet sensation.
