MicroLoan – Charity Box

The MicroLoan Foundation unveiled a unique coin operated billboardĀ on Westfield London’sĀ Southern Terrace to entice passers-by to donate their spare change. Based on an old fashioned charity coin box, users dropped their change into a real box and then watched as their exact denominations rolled through the digital billboard creative. To integrate the physical coin drop with the on-screen creative we hooked up a currency detector to an Arduino board to interpret the data and trigger the correct playout.
